Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern the engagement of Pitaya Atelier ("Pitaya", "we", "us") to design, renovate or decorate your home. By appointing us, you accept these terms. If anything is unclear, please ask before work begins — we would rather talk it through than assume.

2. Our services

We offer full renovation, interior decoration, design consultation and project management. The scope of each project is set out in a written proposal and, once agreed, in a contract between us. Anything outside that scope is agreed in writing before it is carried out.

3. Quotations and fees

Our quotations are valid for thirty days. Fees may be fixed, staged or time-based, as set out in the contract. A deposit is required to secure a start date. Variations requested after the contract is signed are quoted separately and agreed before they are carried out.

4. The project

We work to the programme and budget agreed in the contract. Where the building, the planners or the supply chain require a change, we will tell you promptly, explain the options, and proceed only with your written approval. We act as the single point of accountability from procurement to handover.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information about the property, to make decisions within the times we agree, to give us and our trades reasonable access to the home, and to pay invoices within the terms set out in the contract. If you live in the home during the works, we will agree how that is managed.

6. Intellectual property

All drawings, designs, specifications and other documents we prepare remain our intellectual property until invoices are paid in full, at which point they are assigned to you for the purpose of completing and enjoying your home. They may not be reused on another property without our written agreement.

7. Liability

We carry professional indemnity and public liability insurance appropriate to our work. Our liability for any single event is limited to the contract value, save where loss is caused by our negligence or wilful default. We are not liable for matters outside our control, including the existing condition of the building.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel a project before work begins subject to the deposit terms in the contract. Once work has begun, cancellation is dealt with under the contract, which provides for payment for work carried out and for reasonable costs already committed on your behalf.

9. Governing law

These terms and any contract between us are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, though we will always try to resolve matters by discussion first.
